We’ve been premiering a lot of forlorn, and, ok, downright miserable-making tracks on here lately, which is why this one from Jay Pray feels so fresh. “I’d Go Anywhere (Do Anything)” is, admittedly, still a love-sick track—”I’d go anywhere, do anything for you, but I am feeling you don’t feel like I do”—he sings, but its presentation is so much fun it’s easy to lose sight of the subject matter and just get carried away by the fun of the beat and the exuberance of the arrangement.
“‘I’d Go Anywhere (Do Anything)’ is a song about falling for someone and feeling like you would literally do whatever it takes for their love,” the Brooklyn synth-pop artist says. “But sometimes that feeling isn’t always reciprocated. I think we’ve all been there; Knowing no matter how much you may crave for their desire, all the caring in the world won’t make them feel the same way you do. It’s about unrequited love.”
Ah come on man, I was just starting to enjoy myself here.
Jay Pray’s self-titled album is out in October on Think Thought Records.
