For every time we can’t shotgun beers in an RV trailer, there’s Japandroids. In their newest video for “The House That Heaven Built,” off this year’s excellent Celebration Rock, we get a glimpse of the band’s raucous touring life through the eyes of that long-used visual trope, the backstage pass. There’s an overjoyed crowd collectively losing its mind, plenty of shotgunning, plenty of headbanging in front of wind machines, amateur pyrotechnics, straight-from-the-bottle whiskey chugging and much more to make you antsy about getting out of the office, all rendered in beautiful black-and-white. There’s also a killer ending that should really make you understand how serious the Japandroids lifestyle is. It’s no joke!
