James Franco’s Lesbian Vampire Lifetime Movie Has a Trailer

+

Fitting somewhere in between the Ghostbusters reboot and a sequel to Independence Day, Lifetime has managed to get in on people’s desire to see literally anything—like, say, a 1996 TV movie about a psychotic boyfriend, naturally, starring Tori Spelling—repackaged and rebooted.

Thus, we have been gifted a new version of Mother, May I Sleep With Danger?, for which the truly stunning trailer has just arrived. Similarly to Well Ferrell’s flick for the channel A Deadly Adoption, Lifetime has handed director James Franco the keys to their classic and pretty much let him drive it off the road; the result is a lesbian vampire love story that features the return of Spelling, this time as the mom tasked with answering the title’s polite request.

It’s not quite Han Solo and Chewie-taking-back-the-Falcon levels of nostalgia, but it looks just weird enough to actually work.

The new version premieres on Saturday, June 18 at 8 PM on Lifetime.
