Jake Gyllenhaal has not been shy about voicing his dreams of becoming a dad. For years he’s been telling journalists that he wants to start a family of his own, most recently gushing about the joys of babysitting for his sister Maggie’s children. Thanks to the magic of fashion, Jake Gyllenhaal just became a dad… for an ad campaign, that is.
For the new, predictably gorgeous Calvin Klein Eternity ads, Gyllenhaal appears with supermodel Liya Kebede (one of the all time greats, IMO) and the cutest child to grace the planet. Just look at the loving embrace, the way that Gyllenhaal gazes down at his fashion kid. Shot by Willy Vanderperre, the image is enough to make you want to run out and buy a designer fragrance.
But jokes about biological clocks and hot dads aside, Raf Simons continues to please and surprise in the ad department. After that too-cool-for-school Marfa campaign and the gorgeous underwear campaign featuring the stars of Moonlight, he comes at us with something totally different. This brand of mature, domestic bliss reads like a chic Ralph Lauren ad. The fantastical, otherworldly gorgeous, fake family is totally in line with the specifically ridiculous aspirational quality of perfume advertisements.
Plus, who doesn’t love them some Jake Gyllenhaal?
