Japanese design house ISSEY MIYAKE has long reigned as a forerunner in innovative fashion construction. With technology inspired designs, artfully crafting origami dresses that collapse flat and the wildly popular Madame T convertible scarf, ISSEY MIYAKE manages to conceive simple pieces that twist, tie and convert into magnificent, seemingly complex pieces.
Come September, the TriBeCa ISSEY MIYAKE (which has become an architectural point of interest with a titianium installation overhead by reknowned architect Frank Gehry) will celebrate their ten year anniversary at their downtown location. Store manager Masa discusses the past ten years of ISSEY MIYAKE design and the TriBeCa store’s relationship with the neighborhood
For this story, the BULLETT team was inspired by the Frank Gehry design that has become an iconic part of the tribeca ISSEY MIYAKE store. The hurricaine-interpretation art piece set the perfect backdrop for a dark super hero with a futuristic gotham twist.
