Today, Los Angeles fashionistas rejoice as Isabel Marant opens her second U.S. store on 8454 Melrose Place. Marant, purveyor of that perfectly effortless Parisian slouchy-chic, creates comfortable, sophisticated pieces that are coveted by stylists, celebrities, and the oft-blogged model-off-duty. After a 2010 collaboration with then-French Vogue editor Emmanuelle Alt, Isabel Marant’s already booming business began to expand on a global scale, and this 1,335 square foot L.A. boutique is only the tip of the iceberg. Designed by Paris-based architect Franklin Azzi and featuring sculptures by French artist Arnold Goron, the west coast location will house the main line, the lower-priced Etoile collection, and accessories (including those wedge sneakers everyone is obsessing about). The impeccably designed storefront features—as one expects—imported trees and an elaborate cactus garden.
