Quick, make a list of things that people care about on the internet. Justin Bieber has to be up there, right? Something political too—probably, like, President Obama talking about gay marriage. Throw that one in the mix. What else though? Porn, ok porn beats all of those things, but if we’re looking for the most popular tweet ever, which we are in case I neglected to mention that earlier, then we can rule out porn for now—your average dude isn’t necessarily going to tweet that he’s RLY VIBING 2 THIS GANG BANG TUBE SCENE RIGHT NOW LOL #SMD.
Maybe something about religion? That seems like it would be popular, right? But most religious people don’t know how to use computers via being old/afraid of black magic machines. That leaves us with football. Football, and surprisingly the American version, is the single most important thing in the world, at least according to this tweet last night from Green Bay Packers’ TJ Lang.
Fuck it NFL.. Fine me and use the money to pay the regular refs.

Buzzfeed has the round up of all the other competitors, none of which are more popular than this post from just last night complaining about a stunning conclusion to the Packers/Seahawks game, with almost 89k retweets, and 25k favorites. The NFL is in the midst of a controversy over the use of replacement referees at the moment, which you probably don’t know since you read Bullett magazine. Fortunately, now that we have actionable data like this about how much people care about football, you’ll be kept in the loop about all upcoming stories like this, because Bullett is changing into a sports publication starting right now. Go Patriots!
