‘Iron Sky’ Finally Puts Nazis on the Moon

+

At this point, it’s safe to say there’s no such thing as too many World War II-themed movies. Or alien invasion movies, for that matter. So Kudos to the Finnish director Timo Vuorensola for having the smarts to combine these much-loved themes together into one film. Introducing Iron Skya story of a few very ambitious National Socialists who fled to the Moon (as opposed to South America), where for years, they watched their homeland from afar, waiting for 2018. Once that year hits, these champagne-sipping, high ranking SS officers and bleached blonde Fräuleins will return to earth and pick up where they left off. The only thing that stands in their way is a female US president who reminds us of a certain creature from Wasilla.
After premiering at the Berlin Film Festival, Iron Sky is making the festival rounds before its Stateside debut next month at SXSW. Don’t take this stuff too seriously, people. It’s a spoof, it’s sci-fi, it’s low budget, and it features Nazis, who live on the moon. Yet alle are welcome to watch the trailer below which is already 5 million hits strong on Youtube.
