Great news for people with at least 17 pieces of framed vinyl hanging on the walls in their flats, and/or for people who call the place they live a flat, and/or anyone who’s ever had an earnest discussion about the meaning of their sneakers, because there’s new music from Four Tet online today. Well, not new, actually. The tracks here on the influential outre UK producer’s 0181 were all recorded between 1997 and 2001, which sounds like a long time ago, but when you consider that most of these cats out here now are just finally catching up to Kieran Hebden’s style, the mix sounds newer than a baby’s butthole. Jazzy, clipped, experimental, and trippy, this is some come up on the come down shit.
