While some positive strides have been made in recent years when it comes to representing traditional women’s body types in the world of fashion, there hasn’t been too much on the men’s side. That might change, with the introduction of Brawn, a new plus-size division from IMG.
The first signing to the agency is Zach Miko, a 6 foot 6, 40-inch waist model who made a splash when he appeared in a Target commercial last year.
“The body positive messaging and size diversity is something that’s relevant and something that continues to be on everybody’s mind. We have to extend the conversation for men,” IMG president Ivan Bart told WWD. “I want every man in America to say, ‘I can do that’ when they see Zach,” Bart said.
