Oh man, remember Icona Pop, that one Swedish electro duo whose song “I Love It” we couldn’t stop playing way back in the day of a few months ago? What ever happened to them? Miss them sometimes.
I’ll tell you what happened buddy, they’re still around! Weird, right? And they’ve got a bunch of new material ready for you, the human music listener, to experience and enjoy in the comfort of your own home and/or car and/or local dance club. For example, here’s the video for their track “Manners”, a fluorescent, whispery twinkle grind with a child-like sing-song chorus. “Ba ba bah. Badda bap bah bah,” they sing, which I can’t really translate from the original Swedish, but it sounds poignant. “There is no one like me,” they continue, in English this time. True, unless they mean all the other groups that are trying to sound like this now.
The track is part of their Manners EP, featuring nine other remixes from the likes of Captain Cuts, Boddika, and Deniz Kurtel, which is available for your purchase at whatever fine establishment you normally buy your iTunes stuff from. The iTunes store, say.
