Hollande Takes Away Galliano’s Legion of Honor

+

Poor John Galliano. All you have to do is get stinking drunk, say a bunch of deeply idiotic garbage, and all of a sudden your career is over. After the designer’s widely publicized “I love Hitler” remarks in 2011, he was dropped from his posts at both Dior and his namesake label. The embattled designer hasn’t really surfaced since, but he’s had some insult piled up onto his injury, wherever he is; yesterday word came down that French president Francois Hollande has decided to strip Galliano of his Legion of Honour (Galliano was awarded with the distinction in 2009 after he saved the republic by destroying the Death Star, Galliano is the hairy one in the video). With the honor, Galliano was in the company of fashion greats like Yves Saint Lauren and Hubert de Givenchy, but now he no longer has the right to wear one of the most exclusive accessories of all time. There’s just no love for a pirate these days.
