The Harmony Korine we’ve always known—you know, the one who made this—would not fit within the steely confines of a tightly managed global brand. But the Harmony Korine we know has obviously been gunned down by three balaclava wearing beach babes, because here is a fairly tame “fashion film” the director made for Dior’s new fragrance, Addict. The spot, which stars model Sasha Luss, is lush, dreamy, ethereal, and all the other adjectives you’d use to describe content of this nature, but because it’s Korine, it features a version of Die Antwoord’s “Enter the Ninja” that sounds like it was run through Skrillex’s blender. Playing of Alice in Wonderland imagery, the ad ties into a larger theme for the campaign, which Dior is calling wonDiorland. This is the director’s cut, which means Korine got to ad twenty seconds from the original version. See if you can spot them!
