‘Gossip Girl’ Is Getting a Chinese Makeover

+

What was the moment at when Gossip Girl passed the point of no return? Was it this season? The introduction of the European prince, Louis? That pregnancy? The moment Dan and Blair started seeing pretentious films together at Film Forum? There have been so many missteps of late that it’s difficult to say. But as we wait for the show to reach its merciful close (hopefully, but not likely, at the end this season), we can console ourselves with the thought that Blair, Dan, Chuck and Serena will have their own scheming counterparts in an upcoming Chinese remake of the show, entitled China Girl.

While we Americans may have a hard time accessing China Girl for the first few seasons (Netflix petition?) we can at least know that somewhere, somehow, our beloved franchise is being carried on, reinterpreted, and given the chance—an ill-deserved one—of reseting. It’s something the American characters are always trying, and always failing, to do.
