Get Your Grandma to like Drake with @drakeoncake

Every Friday, BULLETT’s introducing our favorite Instagram profiles and getting to know the people behind the posts.

Now that I’ve accepted and moved past the shame associated with being a girl who loves Drake, I can proudly admit that I fucking love him. I actually didn’t think it was possible to love him any more, until I found @drakeoncake and realized he’s not only the best entertainer of our generation, and the hottest Scorpio male A-lister––but he’s also the rapper whose lyrics are literally the perfect cake decoration.

Obviously, I never would’ve realized this on my own––I can’t even cut a cake without it crumbling to pieces, let alone ice one with lyrics to “One Dance.” It’s all thanks to Joy Wilson, the baker/genius behind the account. Staging her Martha Stewart-level cake designs in front of color coordinated sets that subtly match each cake’s theme, Wilson combines two very separate worlds that pretty much everyone loves: baked goods and hip-hop. The only thing that could’ve made this discovery better, would have been if Drake had posted one of her cakes on his birthday last week––maybe next year.

Check out some of our favorite Drake cakes, below.

From the song, “Faithful”, these are the lyrics you want to hear Drake say to you––or have him text you. Because he definitely means it.

“Make Me Proud” perfectly captures Drake’s charming fuccboi persona. He’s the guy who simultaneously talks shit about guys who waste your time, but never calls you back. He’ll compliment you a lot though, and I feel like he has good intentions, so it’s not a total waste.

“Hold On We’re Going Home” is one of the first songs where Drake introduced his recurrent theme of negging girls he likes by telling them he knows they could be better. As bad as it sounds, it’s coming from a place of love and probably unhealthy infatuation. He’s just such a Scorpio.

As evidenced by this cake referencing “Pop Style,” some Drake lyrics taken out of context would be perfect for a basic bitch tapestry you’d find at Urban Outfitters.

“Passionfruit” is the song you cry to during a breakup, and then sing to your ex when you inevitably get back together. These are also the exact lyrics Drake definitely cryptically texts his 6 girlfriends when he’s on the road.

As much as I love this idea, I really hope Wilson doesn’t commercialize it and make these cakes super available to Instagrammers everywhere. It’s a sacred art and it should be kept that way. But I do hope Drake slides into her DM’s––or mine, because I’m writing about it.
