Hollywood has been trying to get an adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith’s Pride and Prejudice and Zombies off the ground since it first hit bookshelves back in 2009. At one point, Natalie Portman was attached to play the lead with David O. Russell in the director’s chair, but after that version fell apart, the project cycled through directors before Burr Steers (17 Again) settled on the action-comedy-horror hybrid. Rising actress Lily James–who’s also playing the title role in Kenneth Branagh’s upcoming Cinderella adaptation–was eventually cast as lead zombie slayer Elizabeth Bennett, and was soon joined by a flock of other young actresses like Bella Heathcoate, Ellie Bamber, Millie Brady, and model Suki Waterhouse to round out her death squad. Entertainment Weekly has the first look at this new incarnation of the Bennett sisters, which you can see below. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, which also reunites Lena Headey with her Game of Thrones dad Charles Dance, hits theaters sometime next year.
