A while back Gawker asked commenters to chime in with their nominations for the “Williamsburg” of their city. In other words, what’s the neighborhood that super funny ahead-of-the-curve jokester reference sneeringly when talking about hipsters with their different types of pants and beverages and so on.

What’s its hippest—or formerly hippest—or sometimes just youngest—neighborhood, the one with the art galleries and the boutiques and the lines for brunch? (And what, for that matter, is its Bushwick, or “Next Williamsburg”?)

As you can imagine, this is a topic a lot of people have a very strong opinion on.

They compiled the results into a chart, which was published today. Here’s a brief sample below, beginning with my home town of Boston, whose reference to Jamaica Plain I can’t really argue with. Although I don’t tend to go there too often, so I can’t be sure. Too many hipsters.

Go see the rest of the results here.
