Socially, we’re all chained to technology, which will inevitably worsen as we advance deeper into the future. This digital reality inspired NYC designer and photographer Scott Watts, whose new project Gallery 909 offers a personal response by way of dress. For spring ’16, Watts’ rising label introduced everyday wardrobe staples, decorated with patches and graphic prints that aesthetically reflect this exploration of online dependency.
The juxtaposition of mundane silhouettes with tech embellishments aligns with Watts’ mission to slyly outline how we culturally perceive our relationship with the Internet as a normalcy. It’s an exploration of how humans and technology support and complement each other, distilled into one promising, poetic collection.
