Future Islands on ‘Jimmy Kimmel’ Is As Great As You’d Expect

+

Proving that last month’s insanely viral performance on The Late Show With David Letterman was no fluke, Baltimore synth weirdos Future Islands returned to late night television to absolutely devour it once again, this time on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Even though no one would have turned down another performance of “Seasons,” the band wisely switched it up and first performed “Doves,” a bouncy, melodramatic pop number that let lead singer Samuel T. Herring showcase the dancing skills that helped the Letterman performance become the most viewed musical segment in that show’s YouTube history, by far. They followed that up with “Spirit,” also off their excellent new album, “Singles,” which Herring said is a song “about digging down real deep inside yourself.” He then proceeded to do just that. Watch the performances below.
