We can think of nothing better to kick off the madness of NYFW than a party hosted by SPIN and Refinery29 complete with an endless supply of Tito’s vodka and an Azealia Banks performance at the Williamsburg’s Wythe Hotel.
Rumored to be the last print cover subject for SPIN, the Harlem-bred Banks didn’t disappoint with her too-short 20 minute set. Adorned in some sort of cone bra two-piece (reminiscent of an 80′s goth-ier Madonna), the rapper/vocalist/Wang muse bounced around for a crowded room full of boys in tank tops and floral baseball caps and girls in ridiculous stilettos. Unsurprisingly, the pint-sized purple haired singer’s last song of the night was “212,” where she gave a shout out to all the New Yorkers in the room. Even Whitney Port got down.
