Calling all ladies who lunch: Emporio Armani’s Spring/Summer 2012 line has your name written all over it. Even if its avant detailing and flashes of skin are too risqué for your next board meeting, the black-and-white, ribboned, and lapelled collection means serious business. Backstage, the models were uniformly decked out in matching blonde bobs and massive swipes of eyeliner, and each of them wore a banded cloche pulled low on the head.
While the runway was all about ferocious fashions, BULLETT contributor Samantha Casolari caught the girls in moments of repose. Juxtaposing her blissed-out style of photography with the streamlined structure of Armani’s designs, Casolari adds an ethereal element absent in the collection. Seen through a ghostly filter, the A-line skirts and horizontally cut necklines play second fiddle to the details: white-painted fingernails, beautifully structured collars, and the sequins on pantsuits, which injected a surge of life into the otherwise almost-all-work-no-play proceedings.
