Emo Rap Gets Dirty and Sexy In GDP’s ‘Friends That Fu*k’ Video

Yeah, yeah, I was thinking the same thing about emo rap when I heard the opening few bars of “Friends That Fuck” from Holla, GDP’s latest with collaborator The Wrong Address, particularly since it’s on one of my favorite punk and emo labels, Run For Cover Records. (The track “Mascara” features vocals from Tigers Jaw’s Adam Mcllwee, aka Wiccaphase, for shit’s sake). But things take a turn from the missing you, wanting to lay my head on your chest confessions, to, well, a more direct approach.

“I lose my stomach when I think of sweet nothings you would whisper in my ear while I was cummin,” he raps. “You found someone else. Said you can’t love me if you don’t love yourself. Said I’m nothing but trouble, but you’re drunk as hell and I love it when you yell ‘Fuck Me.'”

Kind of hard to argue with that sentiment.

The video, by the way, is a classic tale of two scene chicks out on a night of debauchery that will further drain any sense of the twee out of your cheeks.
