Drake has long been known as the sensitive rapper. He respects, nay, celebrates women. He gets his heart broken. He does really cute shit for Rihanna. So it makes sense that Drake’s latest venture, a nightclub in Houston, would put women on a pedestal. It makes a little bit less sense that those women would be stripping.
But will those women be stripping? It remains unclear. All Drizzy has said about his new club, “The Ballet,” is that it offers “a different take on how it should be done in Houston.” What is “it?” Is it clubbing? Dancing? Stripping? He goes on to say that “the women are on a pedestal and the surroundings are unforgettable.” But is that pedestal literal or figurative?
At last night’s pop-up teaser for The Ballet, the rapper declared that it’s “not about no strip club shit” but added “It’s really just about these amazing women.” What sort of women, Drake? What will the women be doing?
Whether or not The Ballet is in fact a strip club (and whether or not Drake is going to man up and call a spade a spade), you better believe it will be the most sensitive, tasteful strip club in the game. And you better believe it’s going to make fucking bank.
