When writing internet, there’s a certain pressure to remain #onthepulse. If a story is more than, say, thirty seconds old, then it’s considered ‘stale.’ It’s right there on page 7 of the Talentless Reblogger’s Handbook. Look it up. But today I’m going off book because I essentially don’t give a f*ck anymore and this letter that Dr. Dre wrote to his then-girlfriend-now-wife is golden material, even if it did pop up on the internet three years ago. In it, the doctor tells Nicole Threatt that he and Hype Williams were scouting locations for the now-iconic “California Love” video at Burning Man, where he met “a bunch of crazy, naked motherfuckers.” It gets better from there.
