At last night’s People’s Choice Awards, there were a lot of familiar silhouettes: Jennifer Lawrence, who recently tinted her hair auburn, wore a cobalt version of the swirly mesh Viktor & Rolf dress Jessica Chastain wore last month; Kristen Bell marked the third celeb in a row to wear a lace confection from Valentino‘s spring collection; And though it was custom-made, Ashley Greene’s leather-and-lace DKNY looked remarkably like Jessica Alba’s Valentino from the night before.
However, 14-year-old award winner Moretz opted for something a little less trendy, and a lot more obtainable: an emerald green shift from Proenza Schouler’s 2010 pre-fall collection. The throwback look is an interesting one, considering the star’s ongoing relationship with the brand. (She wore runway look #15 from the spring collection for a recent Jimmy Fallon appearance.)
But unlike the Fallon taping, about which brand reps tweeted an announcement, the official Proenza handle merely retweeted a congratulatory message to confirm the credit. Perhaps Moretz (gasp!) owns the dress or (double gasp!) rented the style? For only $250, you can rent a black and opal version of the shift tonight!
