Death Cab for Cutie’s Animated ‘Good Help (Is So Hard To Find)’ Video is a Cautionary Tale About Fame

Wouldn’t it be great to be famous? To break out of the monotony of your boring cubicle job, and be recognized for the truly unique talent that you are? Maybe! Maybe not. The new animated video for Death Cab for Cutie’s “Good Help (Is So Hard To Find)” follows the adventures of someone who longed for just such a change in his life, but things, you will not be surprised to hear, don’t go as he planned. Crazy how that works.

The video is directed by Walter Robot, who’s worked with the band before in the past.

“Crazy to think it started with “Grapevine Fires” 7 years ago,” he says. “Ever since then, the band has been so gracious in all our collaborations. This one definitely feels more mature but also the oddest of the three. The idea started from a sketch Bill made of a dumb looking guy with a hole in his head.”

DCFC hit the road in May with Chvrches, with stops this summer at Governors Ball, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and Firefly.
