Our girl Alice Glass might have left Crystal Castles, but that hasn’t stopped the band from releasing the moody electro-pop it first became famous for.
With replacement singer, Edith Frances, looped in, CC unveiled today their newest single, “Fleece,” from the band’s upcoming album, Amnesty, out this Friday. The track is a slicing mix of hard and soft, with Frances’ reverb-soaked vocals echoing over pulsing synths—think Trent Reznor’s angst with an ’80s dance beat.
Even with Glass’ platform shoes to fill, Frances’ voice soars on “Fleece,” as Ethan Kath continues to serve up dark synth and drum beats. Listen, below, and pre-order Amnesty, here.
