Courtney Love is about to be at the center of another American scandal. The infamous grunge queen will star in a new Menendez Brothers Lifetime biopic as Kitty Menendez, the mother who was murdered, alongside her husband, by their two all-American sons. The true-crime drama comes from Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato, ex-club kids and directors of Party Monster.
Of course, playing the role of a slain woman might be a stretch for Love, who’s long been accused of murdering her late husband, Kurt Cobain. But she did give a standout performance as Althea in the ’96 film, The People vs. Larry Flynt. Plus, she’s the queen of crazy, and we’ve heard Kitty was off her nut. Sounds like a perfect fit.
