Cancer Patients Get Awful Makeovers For the Laughs

+

Here’s the feel good bit of highly-shareable content of the day, a book project called “If Only For a Second”, in which cancer patients were promised makeovers, but weren’t allowed to see the progress until the stylists were finished. The results were not pretty to say the least. Fortunately most of the participants had a good sense of humor about the whole thing, otherwise you’d be seeing headlines of a different sort about this: Horrible Assholes Troll Cancer Patients with Cruel Stunt, comes to mind.

20 cancer patients participated in a unique makeover experience.  They were invited to a studio. Their hair and makeup were completely redone. During the transformation, they were asked to keep their eyes shut. A photographer then immortalized the moment they opened their eyes. This discovery allowed them to forget their illness, IF ONLY FOR A SECOND.

The effort comes from the Mimi Foundation, which sales of the book support. Read more about it here. (h/t)
