How’s this for meta: Calvin Klein just sent a pair of jeans down the runway with a picture of Brooke Shields in her iconic 1980 denim ad for the brand — the one in which she proudly proclaims that nothing comes between her and her Calvins — stamped on the back.
You can now wear Brooke Shields in her Calvins on your very own pair of Calvins! There’s also a matching denim jacket, if that’s more your style. Raf Simons, who famously defected from Dior in 2015 and recently told the helm at Calvin Klein, certainly knows how to get us all talking.

The campaign, which included print ads and television commercials shot by Richard Avedon, helped catapult 15-year-old Shields to superstardom. It also ruffled the feathers of some people who thought it was maybe kind of weird to have a teenager on national television insinuating that she’s not wearing any underwear. Controversy aside, the ad represents a golden age for Calvin Klein — one that Simons seems understandably interested in hearkening back to. After all, we Americans do love our nostalgia.
Shields herself was seated in the front row and hinted to WWD that we may be seeing more of her at Calvin Klein now. “It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to collaborate with Calvin Klein, and the house of, and Raf asked me to be part of that,” she said.
For now though, I’m mostly just excited by the prospect of wearing a small piece of fashion history on my behind.
