Today marks the beginning of Burberry’s Spring/Summer 2013 Campaign, a dynamic, multi-platform accessory to the lush jewel-toned collection seen on the September runways. The campaign, shot by Mario Testino, features an all-star cast of Brits including Cara Delevingne, Edie Campbell, Charlotte Wiggins, Alex Dunstan, Charlie France, and Max Rendell; however, it’s eleven-year-old Romeo Beckham who takes center stage. A preview for the campaign, shown below, shows a beaming mini-Beckham bouncing and cheesin’ his way around the pouting, motionless adults. According to Burberry Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey, “We had such fun shooting the campaign and I think that comes through in the images which really reflect the upbeat spirit of the collection.” Burberry certainly found a star in Romeo, whose inevitable modeling debut brings a much-needed sense of happy-go-lucky charm to the often heavy-handed arena of big-label campaigns. Featuring a mix of Burberry Prorsum, Burberry London and Burberry Brit clothing, the outerwear-focused campaign will continue to unfold over the course of the season. Check out the preview below:
