Rooted in the concept of sexual dimorphism, NYC designer Olivia Galov is boldly exploring the possibilities of gender fluidity through her rising brand Daimorf. Having interned at Eckhaus Latta and BCALLA, Galov has a strong frame of reference for this particular study, reveling in the creative freedom that comes with opening up the binary.

For her AW ’15 collection, Galov said she began by examining color and texture, honing in on materials like wool and mohair, and deep, lush colors like olives, tan and mustard. She threw around abstract ideas from “moss on a log and sand swept dunes” to “Lorelai and Rory Gilmore living in Stars Hollow in 2001.” This unlikely grab bag of inspiration manifested into a lineup of genderless pieces featuring thoughtful cutouts, contrasting silhouettes and an irresistible color palette.
