A year ago you’d be more likely to find Brooklyn Decker flaunting her curves in bodycon Hervé than flowing Halston, but that was before she met pintsized stylist, Annie Ladino. Since that pivotal moment, the emerging film star, who will appear in next year’s Battleship alongside Alexander Skarsgärd and Taylor Kitsch, has become a veritable one-to-watch.
“I love to tell Brooklyn she is my ‘sole mate,” Ladino tells BULLETT. “While we both love a sick shoe, I like to try unexpected color combinations,” evidence of which can be found in last week’s UNICEF Ball look: a seafoam Tory Burch halter punctuated by neon orange Jimmy Choos. “We’re both big fans of The Great Gatsby, so it’s really dictated the direction for her upcoming press tour looks,” Ladino says. Perhaps it’s nostalgia that inspired Decker’s sweetly braided updo, courtesy of Charles Baker Strahan. “Brooklyn really does know how to pull off sophistication while giving it an edge. She’s willing to take non-traditional routes and try something unconventional.”
With the upcoming Battleship press tour, the two plan on continuing to break the mold. “There will be a lot of vintage inspired looks,” Ladino promises. “And lots of great new designers to look forward to.”
