‘This Is Your Brain On Drugs’ Uses Graphic Design to Capture Various Highs

For “This Is Your Brain on Drugs” a project from Duke University student Meaghan Li, she wanted to attempt to illustrate the varied experiences of using different drugs through graphic design. The results are distinctive, and pretty accurate, at least based on our vast experience as dedicated scumbags. There was also an informational aspect to it, she explained to the Washington Post.

“I intend to use these designs on the backs of small cards that provide basic information about each drug, such as their addictive potential, effects/side effects, drug interactions, active/lethal dose ratios, etc…My approach was that if individuals (and college students in particular) are going to use psychoactive substances, they should have access to as much information as possible to minimize possible drug-related risks and harms.”

While I’m nowhere near as talented as Li, her work does remind me of a similar project I’ve been toying around with myself. Check it out:
