Blame it on Rio: Fashion Rio Fall/Winter 2013 Wraps Up

+

Fashion Rio closed last Friday with Lady Gaga performing for the first time in the city. While edgy Gaga excited the sexiest city below the Equator, ‘Rio’ tattooed on her neck, the fashion shows were softer. A new winter is rising in Rio with fluid fabrics and inspirations emerging from the East. The highlights:

Andrea Marques
Designer Andrea Marques revamped masculine apparel for the sophisticated woman. Inspired by Eastern culture, the result was very feminine and held her place as a favorite among chic girls from Rio’s South Zone.

Sacada
Sacada proposed a new use for fabric of the moment, neoprene: fifties flair nightgowns and soft tailoring with embroidery were mixed with sparkling knitwear in orange, black, yellow, and Klein blue.

R.Groove
A personal favorite of the whole Brazil season, the only full menswear show in Rio, R.Groove worked up fresh and young urban tailoring for the boys of Neverland who never want to grow old. The collection was very masculine with navy and red hues and a camouflage print that came in nifty shades of grey.
