Very soon, perhaps, there will come a time when it seems like every action Azealia Banks takes isn’t geared towards making audiences marvel at how few fucks the rhyme-slinging firebrand gives, but that time has not reached us yet. So today we write to tell you that Banks’ upcoming cover for British magazine Dazed & Confused has already been banned in a whopping seven countries before its release. Why? Apparently the cover shot features Banks blowing up a pink condom like a balloon (why exactly is that scandalous? The only real difference between a condom and a ballon is the reservoir tip). Of course, now that the issue is being banned it’ll just make the hype around it hotter, kinda like when you read Fahrenheit 451 in high school cause you heard it was controversial, only to be disappointed by the serious lack of sex and drug use in the novel. Maybe underneath that risque cover Banks’ piece will be all about censorship and the future of dissent in American society. But probably not.
