About the time that Azealia Banks’ video for “Liquorice” came out, you may have had a thought that went something like, “Wasn’t there someone, someone before this…who was kind of similar to this?” Depending on your mnemonic prowess, you may or may not have been able to drudge up from the depths of spring 2010, the memory of Dominique Young Unique, a similarly young, abrasive personality who burst into everybody’s awareness with the pretty good “Show My Ass,” and subsequently faded from view (maybe because girl’s Twitter account is kind of annoying). Well, whether or not Azealia Banks’ consistent stream of new material was enough to make folks forget about Dominique Young Unique, the rapper isn’t content to sit on the sidelines while someone gets all up in her niche; the rapper just dropped “Big In Da Game,” a track that’s pretty obviously directed at Azealia Banks (“Fuck Jumanji, Tarzan bitch!”). Well, considering that Azealia Banks has tried to beef with the likes of Iggy Azalea and Kreayshawn, maybe she’ll be happy now that someone has taken the bait.
