Girls just want to have fun and fun is what the new girl group Juce’s new video is all about. Set to the addictively catchy beat of the London trio’s new dance number “The Heat,” this interactive video for “Colour Control,” presented by ASOS, lets you play around with the looks in the video. With a click of the mouse you can change their mod minis and long-legged skinnies into five different shades: red, blue, green, blue, and black. The fashions in the video channel the ’60s pop-art prints and cuts we saw on the runway this year.
Music videos have come a long way since MTV killed the radio star, and interactive videos have progressed since Arcade Fire’s video by Vincent Morrissett, arguably the first of its kind, back in 2007, which was limited by what browsers couldn’t do then that they can today. “Colour Control” reminds us of this new era of playful and user-friendly interactive videos like the one OK Focus put out for Tanlines.
Take a look and I can’t promise you won’t have this dancey beat stuck in your head the rest of the day.
