Artists Gather in the Bronx for Ray-Ban x Boiler Room’s ‘Push Yourself’

Over the weekend, Ray-Ban x Boiler Room unveiled their latest event, “Push Yourself,” from their 2016 series. Curated by GHE20GOTH1K, artists including Messiah El Artista, Tate Kobang, Fade To Mind‘s ASMARA, LSDXOXO, Byrell The Great and DJ Cue Heat gathered in Venus X‘s Bronx neighborhood at the legendary Salsa Con Fuego nightclub.

From a video exploration of Voguing to performances by artists breaking down cultural and musical barriers, the event is designed to “celebrate and spotlight artists who are pushing to have their unique voices heard across the globe.”

Boiler Room, the world’s leading online music broadcaster, has partnered with Ray-Ban to celebrate emerging talent and artistic innovation. This year, Ray-Ban launched their #ItTakesCourage campaign and with it, an all new Boiler Room party, “Push Yourself,” bringing together artists and musicians in large-scale cultural experiments, with each event curated by one of six guest collaborators.

This weekend’s event provided Venus with a chance to share her knowledge with New York’s current club kids. GHE20GOTH1K began as a popular underground dance party hosted by Venus, but has since turned into a cultural experience, more recently fostering artists like LSDXOXO with a newly launched record label.
