As we saw in the recent Mag + Art project, in which magazine covers were mixed together with fine artworks, and other similar projects, there’s a lot of potential for overlaying painting and photography in the context of one image.
For his Art Drag Album project, artist Nigel Grimmer has been doing just that. Grimmer uses paintings by J.H. Lynch and Vladimir Tretchikoff, then styles himself as an extension of the portrait for a “drag” effect. See more from him at his site.
