Vogue editor-at-large André Leon Talley — he of all those colorful capes and caftans and that larger-than-life personality — is one of the most interesting, iconic fashion industry characters, and as such, he’s getting his very own talk show with SiriusXM. All I can say is: it’s about damn time.
The program will premiere on April 14 (mark those calendars, folks) and will be hosted on Radio Andy, Bravo host Andy Cohen’s Sirius channel. (It’s perfectly alright if up until now you didn’t know that was a thing that existed because I did not either.) “Full Length” will reportedly feature interviews with Talley’s laundry list of celebrity and fashion world friends, with a focus on dissecting both pop culture moments and current fashion trends.
“My SiriusXM radio show will be fabulous,” Talley said in a statement. “We will cover it all — from global style influences and trends to iconic pop culture moments that wowed us. ‘Full Length’ will showcase the connection we all have with fashion.”
Last year, Talley came under fire by his fashion world peers for positive comments he made about Donald and Melania Trump. He later clarified his sentiments, telling the New York Times: “[Melania’s] a nice person. I do not endorse Trumpism on any level. So why can’t one be positive and want her to shine?”
After all that, it’s safe to say Talley probably won’t be addressing politics too much on his show. But we can begin envisioning a dream list for celebrity guests. I’m crossing my fingers for Anna Wintour, Choupette the cat (Karl can come too), Naomi Campbell, and Beyoncé. In that order.
