American Apparel Mistakenly Posts Image of Space Shuttle Explosion Instead of Clouds

+

This is why all millennials should be arrested. Earlier today American Apparel, the frequently pr deficient company, posted an image to their Tumblr of what they thought were fireworks clouds. Turns out the image they chose was actually the Space Shuttle Challenger exploding in the sky in 1986, a disaster in which all seven crew members were incinerated. Anyone who was alive at the time will remember it as a truly horrifying collective national tragedy. The company has since apologized, saying that the “international social media employee” who re-blogged it was too young to recognize the image.

UPDATE: This post mistakenly referred to their mistake as mistaking the explosion for fireworks, it was actually clouds. Apologies.
