Amanda Seyfried will star in the forthcoming revival of the cult favorite TV series Twin Peaks, according to a report from TV Line. Details about what her role will be are scarce, as are details available for me to riff on this bit of TV casting news due to I’ve never seen the show Twin Peaks, but more important than that, I’m aware that very many of you nice people have seen it and are interested in news about it.
More from TV Line:
Twin Peaks co-creators David Lynch and Mark Frost have penned all episodes of the present-day continuation — which will total more than the originally announced nine hours — with Lynch directing every installment. Filming is currently underway in Washington state.
At the Television Critics Association summer press tour in August, Showtime president David Nevins hinted that fans can expect “familiar faces” to join returning cast member Kyle MacLachlan. “You should be optimistic that the people that you want [back] will be there, and then there will be some surprises in addition.”
Writing on the news, Vanity Fair points to speculation that “Seyfried may play the daughter of Coop and his late-in-the-show love interest Annie, played by Heather Graham, who, like Seyfried, is also a woman with blonde hair and facial features.”
Who is Coop? Hard for me to say, not giving a shit about this show, but I feel like it’s important to point out that facial features are one of my favorite characteristics in women. People in general really. Here’s to hoping that everyone involved in the show has facial features, blonde or otherwise. Although, knowing Lynch, which, again, I really don’t all that well, perhaps he’s got some sort of mysterious, artful way to work around that.
