Following its 50-day national “Nowhere Now” tour, Alt Space is back in New York and stoking the local cultural embers once again.

In collaboration with SPLACER, the crew took over Bushwick’s Signal Gallery this weekend to celebrate the release of NOISY KIDS: a new 90-page zine by Rookie Magazine illustrator Kati Yewell, featuring cover girl Tavi Gevinson, Mayan Toledano, Me & You’s Julia Baylis, Grace Miceli, Wiissa and RemiRiordan.

To commemorate Yewell’s latest project, Signal hosted a lineup of live performances by Jimi Lucid, Nightspace and Pretty Sick, while exhibiting select works from artists including Bailey Skye, Amanda Leigh Smith, Kendra Yee and Mia Neumann. In true form, Alt Space curated an eclectic pop-up shop, featuring token brands like Whatever 21, H0les, Something Happening and Toy Syndrome.

As key players in Brooklyn’s DIY scene, Alt Space has exciting plans to open a “clubhouse” late spring, where more noise is planned to be made in Bushwick’s buzzing arts and culture scene—stay tuned.
