A ‘Braveheart’ TV Show Is in the Works

+

Everything you’ve heard is true, if, what you’ve heard was that the Oscar-winning movie Braveheart was becoming a TV show. And if you haven’t heard it, you’ve most likely dreamed about it. Never has the story of the fight for Scottish independence been as compelling than when Mel Gibson lent his efforts to the classic, campy 1995 William Wallace biopic.

The Mick Davis-penned drama series try and replicate the movie’s success, and will be shopped around in coming months. The pitch, we’re assuming, will be a Tudors-meets-Game of Thrones-meets topicality angle, and we couldn’t be happier. But there’s one thing they’ve overlooked that we certainly haven’t. How to prolong the suspense of an entire season (or multiple seasons) when everyone knows how it’s going to end—with a brutal display of scrotal torture? If the screenwriters can get over that hurdle, they can do anything.
